CELEBRATION HEALTH MEDICAL PLAZA IS ANNOUNCED AS WINNER OF REGIONAL TOBY AWARD; QUALIFIES PROPERTY FOR INTERNATIONAL LEVEL
CHICAGO IL and CELEBRATION FL, Apr-27, 2009 – Chicago-based Lillibridge has received the regional "The Office Building of the Year" (TOBY) Award from the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) recognizing Celebration Health Medical Plaza for excellence in property management.
In February, the medical office building (MOB) was named as the 2009 winner of the best medical office building for the local TOBY Award. The property gained more prestige April 25th when it was awarded the next highest level of TOBY Award; the winner of the Southern Region.
Lillibridge designed and built the 95,000 square foot, four-story Celebration Health Medical Plaza in Celebration, Fla. in 2006. They also provide the property management services. The facility is owned by Seavest, Inc.
Celebration Health Medical Plaza will now compete for the International TOBY Award which will be announced June 30th at the BOMA International North American Commercial Real Estate Congress and Office Building Show in Philadelphia.
"We are very proud that two of the buildings we manage won local TOBY Awards this year, and are very excited that one will go on to compete for the International TOBY," says Lillibridge Chairman and CEO Todd W. Lillibridge. "The International Award is the highest honor in commercial real estate. Lillibridge has earned the award twice before, and we are hopeful for a third win with the Celebration MOB. Year after year our staff wins awards that show their dedication to excellent property management, benefitting our physicians, their patients and our company as a whole."
The International TOBY Award was created in 1985 and is the most prestigious and comprehensive evaluation in the commercial real estate profession. Described as the "Academy Award" for office buildings, the TOBY Award recognizes quality in office buildings and excellence in office building management. All facets of a building's operations are thoroughly evaluated during the judging process including tenant relations, community impact and employee programs. Detailed property inspections, floor plans, building standards and photographs are also judged as part of the competition.
"A staff of three worked together as a team to make these two awards happen," says Lillibridge Property Manager Lynn Harris, CPM. "We got high marks from the judges on our building as a whole, including our Energy Star benchmarking. I've been lucky enough to be involved in three TOBY Award-winning buildings with Lillibridge, and I'm looking forward to attending the International TOBY presentation in June."
