Lillibridge starts construction on two new MOBs in Texas
MEDICAL OFFICE BUILDINGS TO BE LOCATED ON NEW HOSPITAL CAMPUS IN WACO
CHICAGO IL and WACO TX, Dec-10, 2008 – Two new MOBs and two hospitals will provide a wide array of medical services to the residents of Waco, Texas as part of a 50-acre replacement campus development.
Chicago-based Lillibridge, one of the nation's largest private healthcare real estate firms, is working with Seavest, Inc. to develop the two MOBs that will serve both new hospitals: Hillcrest Community Hospital and Hillcrest Women's & Children's Hospital. The MOBs and the replacement hospitals will be located two miles from Hillcrest's current campus. Ground was broken for the two medical office buildings in mid-October, and the completion date is scheduled for the summer of 2009.
"We're very excited that the construction on these two medical office buildings has begun on our new campus," says Jim Gebhart, COO, Hillcrest Hospital. "They will be the perfect complement for our new campus. Lillibridge has a wealth of experience in healthcare real estate and a reputation for building the highest quality MOBs. We feel certain that these new facilities will meet our needs moving into the future."
The Women's & Children's Hospital will be served by the Hillcrest Women's & Children's Medical Office Building. Related physician practices and services will be housed in the new 59,000 square foot, two-story MOB.
The new three-story, 107,000 square foot Hillcrest Community Medical Office Building will connect to the adjacent Community Hospital. It will feature a second-story skybridge designed to allow physicians and patients easy access from the hospital to an imaging center and an ambulatory surgery center.
"We think these two new MOBs will be a great complement to the new campus and hospitals," says Lillibridge Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Todd W. Lillibridge. "We're glad to be a part of bringing expanded medical services to Waco and the surrounding area."
